Badkamervoordeelshop Deventer wins the Experience of the Month Award for July!

31/8/2026

Badkamervoordeelshop Deventer is the winner of our Experience of the Month Award for July! Every month, our mystery shoppers visit thousands of stores, restaurants, and hospitality locations. From all these visits, we select the most remarkable, customer friendly, or inspiring experience. This month, Badkamervoordeelshop Deventer stood out as a showroom where genuine involvement, quick thinking, and personal advice came together to create a customer experience that truly left a lasting impression.

Advice that doesn’t feel like selling

Choosing a bathroom is not a quick purchase. It involves personal taste, space, budget, practical decisions, and, above all, the feeling that someone is genuinely thinking along with you. That is exactly where Badkamervoordeelshop Deventer made the difference.

The mystery shopper described the visit as very positive. “It didn’t feel like he was trying to sell me something, it genuinely felt like advice. I had never experienced that before, and it made me really take him seriously and made the conversation feel very pleasant.”

Personal examples from sales associate Bram de Wilde also helped the shopper better visualize the different options. “For example, he compared things to his own bathroom, which really helped paint a clear picture.”

A showroom experience where the customer felt understood

What stood out most during the visit was Bram’s level of involvement. The mystery shopper had a clear sense of style and had not yet found what they were looking for anywhere else. Still, Bram quickly adapted, asked the right questions, and actively helped explore the different options.

The mystery shopper wrote: “Bram was so involved! He adapted quickly and really thought along with me. It made me feel genuinely understood and well advised. He also had an answer to every question.”

For Bram, the visit simply felt like a pleasant conversation.

“I’ve always been a bit of a socializer. That’s my strength, it’s just who I am. I always start by making a bit of small talk and keeping the atmosphere relaxed.”

That easygoing way of connecting with customers fits the showroom perfectly. Customers come in with ideas, doubts, and wishes. By first having a genuine conversation, there is room to discover what someone is really looking for and which style suits them best.

From customer to bathroom advisor

Bram has now been working at Badkamervoordeelshop Deventer for five years. Interestingly, his story with Badkamervoordeelshop started on the other side of the table, as a customer. He originally visited the showroom to buy a bathroom himself and got talking with the team during his visit.

One thing led to another. Bram started thinking about the job, made the career switch, and now helps customers design their own bathrooms.

His favorite part of the job is still clear: designing a bathroom together with the customer. “Drawing and sitting down with the customer, that’s the best part,” Bram explains. “You design everything based entirely on what the customer wants, and then you keep adjusting it until it is exactly the way they want it.”

A bathroom that fits the customer

For Bram, good advice is not about offering as much as possible. It is about understanding what someone is truly looking for. Especially when it comes to bathrooms, because no two customers and no two spaces are the same.

“We never create the exact same bathroom twice. Every bathroom is different. Everyone brings their own ideas and makes their own changes.”

That is why Bram continuously considers which direction the conversation and design should take. What suits the customer’s taste? What works in the available space? What fits the budget? And what genuinely gets the customer excited?

That is exactly why this visit received such a strong evaluation. The shopper felt understood, received clear answers, and noticed that Bram was genuinely thinking along with them.

Mystery shopping as an opportunity to learn together

Bram was already familiar with mystery shopping from previous work experience. Because of that, he was a little skeptical at first. He expected to be very conscious of it during his conversations with customers. In practice, however, it turned out differently.

“In the mystery shopping research from Secret View, every customer is simply a customer. You don’t notice that someone is a mystery shopper.”

That is exactly what makes this experience so strong and the research so valuable. Bram had no idea that he was helping a mystery shopper, which meant the conversation remained natural, relaxed, and genuine.

Within the team, the reports are reviewed together. Not to judge one another, but to see what went well and where there are still opportunities to learn.

That is exactly what mystery shopping is intended for. Not to control employees, but to provide insights that help teams grow.

A well deserved award

Badkamervoordeelshop Deventer shows that a strong customer experience starts with genuine attention. By listening carefully, adapting quickly, and providing honest advice, Bram turned an exploratory showroom visit into an experience that inspired confidence.

Congratulations to Bram and the entire Badkamervoordeelshop Deventer team on this well deserved Experience of the Month Award! 🎉
